Boost Your Business: Free Resources for National Small Business Month

Small businesses are economic engines. Florida alone has 3.1 million small businesses that employ 3.6 million people. Technology is crucial to the success of small businesses. In line with National Small Business Month, the Comcast Business Community Website’s “Small Business” section is providing free content designed to help small businesses understand and apply technology and manage and maximize operations, as well as gain insights from entrepreneurs about starting a new business. Topics include:

• Why small businesses should provide free WiFi to customers.

• How small businesses can increase efficiency.

• Lessons from seasoned startups about how to lead and succeed.

“Small businesses don’t typically have inhouse experts or resources on issues related to technology, which is so critical to their operations – and sometimes even their survival,” said Rich Rollins, Comcast Business Vice-president in Florida. “Comcast Business Community’s goal is to be a free resource for technology solutions, ideas and insights for businesses of all sizes, from small to large.”...Click Here for Full Story

Artists Outside the Typical Gallery Fare To Finally Get Their Due

For hundreds of years, the finest oil portraits, marble busts, and watercolor landscapes have adorned the halls of museums, galleries, and salons.    This exhibition begs the question:

Why should those artists get all the fun?

This exhibition shines a light on creators whose artistic output may go underappreciated by the art world at large. Ceramicists who specialize in coffee mugs, tattoo artists churning out unique flash sheets every month, wig-makers piling bright pink hair a foot high-- all are amazing artists in their own right who deserve to be celebrated. We are encouraging any and every type of creative to submit, from florist to pâtissier and everyone in between, in a celebration of kitsch, creativity, and entrepreneurial spirit....Click Here for full Story

Rita and Rick Case Changemaker Award

Presented at 2024 South Florida Heart Ball

Rita Case, President and CEO of Rick Case Automotive Group, presented the second annual Rita and Rick Case Changemaker Award to the Frederick A. DeLuca Foundation and Jonathan DeLuca, board director of the Foundation, during the 2024 South Florida Heart Ball, hosted by the American Heart Association (AHA).

In a rare move by a national organization to establish a perpetual recognition award, the Rita and Rick Case Changemaker Award was established last year. The award is now presented annually in perpetuity to an individual or organization that has made an impact, sets the tone, leads by example and inspires others to join the mission of the AHA. This is the first award of its kind in the AHA’s South Florida market...Click Here for Full Story
