62nd Annual Meeting - Jan. 19
The Greater Mount Airy Chamber of Commerce hosted its 62nd Annual Meeting last week on Thursday, January 19th, 2023 at Cross Creek Country Club. The room was filled with over 260 local business leaders, government leaders, and Chamber of Commerce supporters.

Chris A. Lumsden (Northern Regional Hospital) opened the meeting with a sincere welcome. Chad Tidd (Chick-fil-A Mount Airy) offered a thoughtful prayer before guests enjoyed a classy meal prepared by the wonderful Cross Creek Country Club staff.

Following the meal, Chamber of Commerce leaders Joe Zalescik (Station 1978 Firehouse Peanuts), Connie Hamlin (RidgeCrest), and Lenise Lynch (Hampton Inn) conducted Board of Directors business.

  • Lenise Lynch recognized retiring Board of Directors: Brian Johnson (Johnson Granite Inc.), Luke Morrison (Gates Pharmacy), John Philips (State Farm), Steve Yokeley (City Commissioner), Todd Tucker (Formerly, Surry EDP)
  • Connie Hamlin passed the Chairman of the Board gavel to Lenise Lynch and Connie was recognized for her dedication and service as the 2022 Chairman
  • Lenise Lynch, 2023 Chairman of the Board, directed the induction of the 2023 Board of Directors (listed below).
Annual Meeting Keynote Speaker

Following the Board of Directors business, Keynote Speaker, Jennifer Mauldin, President & Chief Client Officer of Inmar Intelligence, addressed the crowd with an inspiring presentation on embracing technology, change, and inclusion.

Jennifer shared her experience as a young teenager and daughter of The Crickets bass player, Joe B. Mauldin, and how she played an integral role in Inmar's growth over the past 20+ years.
2022 Citizen of the Year

After a heartfelt and personal introduction given by Traci George (WorkForce Unlimited and 2021 Citizen of the Year) the 2022 Citizen of the Year was announced and completely surprised!

Dr. Terri Mosley, former Assistant Superintendent of Surry County School, now Retired and Board of Education Member, was surprised when Traci's speech became more and more familiar to her. Seated, with tears in her eyes, she saw her family enter at the back of the room. Traci George reads, "Please stand and join me in congratulating your 2022 Citizen of the Year, Dr. Terri Mosley". As her standing ovation began, Dr. Mosley immediately rushed to the back of the room to hug her surprise guests.
