Fundraising Today: Donor Centric vs Community Centric

The fundraising community is exploring how donor-centrism perpetuates inequity and static, and how organizations might consider more community-centric fundraising practices to maximize impact. Join the AFP Chicago LGBTQ+ Affinity Group as Tiffany Williams leads us through a group discussion and case study to explore how both methods impact fundraising. Guests will leave with a better understanding of the concepts, and additional tools and verbiage to use in nonprofit leadership and fundraising practice.

Tiffany Williams is the Founder and Principal of TJ Marie Consulting, a dual-Certified Woman and Minority-Owned management and fundraising consulting firm, and the Founder and CEO of Givly, a donor engagement and giving mobile app. Tiffany offers over a decade of fundraising, leadership, and management experience, having successfully led teams and nonprofit organizations to secure nearly a billion dollars in philanthropic support for their causes and missions.  View bio

March Virtual Workshop - March 25th
Turning Crisis Donors into
Long-term Investors
Friday, March 25, 2022
12:00 - 1:00 pm

Members: $20
Non-Members: $30

"Turning crisis donors into long-term investors" is a topic that is important to all non-profit organizations. Many new donors activated around urgent calls for assistance caused by the onset of the pandemic and its ripple effect on people’s lives as well as the call for racial equity in light of the health disparities of the pandemic coupled with the George Floyd murder and subsequent protests. The good news is people responded, moved by the needs presented by this global health crisis and calls for greater racial equity. However, as the initial surge of urgency with these twin crises fades, organizations are faced with the challenge to turn these one-time donors into engaged, committed investors.
This virtual workshop will bring together fundraising professionals from diverse organizations to share their approaches to this topic. Additional small group work will allow participants to apply different approaches to their organizations and discuss their ideas among peers.

This workshop is approved for 1 CFRE point.
