Faith Journeys with Pastor Jack

Join Us After Worship for Bible Study

What does it look like when faith becomes a way of life?

In Acts 4:3-47 we see a community marked by unity, generosity, and grace – people who truly shared life together.

Join us this week for Bible study as we explore what it means to live with “one heart and mind” in today’s world.

There is a place for you at the table – come be part of the conversation.

You are always welcome!

Greg Way's Sunday School Class

Our victorious theme for the Genesis Class is "Dominion." Please join us as we consider the struggles of our Patriarchs and Prophets, both ancient and modern.

The resurrected Jesus declared "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations... And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."

OK - So now what?

Adult Bible Study with Bill

The scripture for my lesson this Sunday comes from

Psalm 89:1-4, 15-28, 38-41, and 49. Yeah, I know. This selection of verses seems a bit random. But hopefully we will make some sense of these verses as we explore how God’s covenant through Jesus opens us to a faith that’s both mature and trusting.
T
his class is based on the Cokesbury Adult Bible Studies series, copies of which are provided without cost. I share my own insights and often cover different material than what's in the book. However, you may gain further insights into the lesson if you have the book. I welcome open discussion in our classes.

Congratulations

Create a great offer by adding words like "free," "personalized," "complimentary," or "customized." A sense of urgency often helps readers take action, so consider inserting phrases like "for a limited time only" or "only 7 remaining!"

ARE YOU LOOKING TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

HERE ARE SOME PLACES YOU CAN.

Family Promise

Are you looking for an occasional reminder that you are sitting in a comfortable seat in this world? That you have a roof over your head, food in your belly, and that, on many days, you are in control of the smaller things in your life - when to wake, sleep, eat, exercise, or bathe.

Family Promise can remind you!

Training required - about an hour.

Commitment - Seabrook United Methodist Church volunteers are on the roster 4 times a year, 2 evenings and/or nights a week. That’s 8 times a year max. And you can choose to participate just once a year and still support this program!

Our next host weeks:

MAY 10 - 17

AUGUST 16 -23

NOVEMBER 8 -15

Contributions - Purchasing, preparing, and serving dinner dishes. Eating and conversing with families. Interacting with children. Spending a night at our host church, Clear Lake United Methodist Church. And, with any of these, listening to and encouraging our Family Promise guests.

Reward - A glimpse into the lives of others who are currently challenging themselves to create a comfortable seat for their family in this world. They are working on this challenge with the support of the Family Promise program, and you can be a part of us.

https://familypromise.org/ to learn more.

Our coordinator is Hilary Gibbs. If you would like to get involved, please contact Hilary at 832-385-2414 or Velita at the church office

(281-326-1970) and she will pass on your interest to Hilary.

The Gathering Place

We partner with Care Partners, an organization which ministers to people dealing with memory issues and their caregivers. Once a month we host a gathering at the church, providing social interaction and entertainment and games and a meal. If you would like to get involved, please contact Kris Brummerhop at kbhop709@gmail.com.

Food Assistance

Donate groceries or cash for The Bridge over Troubled Waters, a facility housing for abused families; help with bagging the groceries; join our precious Cookie Angels and bake homemade cookies/cup cakes/treats for the children at the Bridge. If you would like to get involved, please contact Velita Way at Velita@Seabrookumc.org.
