HARRIS COUNTY "GET ON THE ROLL"

Harris County Tax Office - Civic Sunday,

Sept. 13, 2026 11:00AM - 12:00PM

Seabrook United Methodist Church is hosting the Harris County Tax Office who is offering help with voter registration and voter tabling. This is a nonpartisan voter registration drive to help eligible residents register to vote, update their voter registration information or verify that their registration is current.

There will be a table set up in the Fellowship Hall with two helpers from the Harris County Tax Office. Stop by after the morning service and check out your registration.

The United Methodist Men met for lunch and fellowship on Saturday, August 22. Don brought his friend Steve and we

had 11 in attendance.

We will be inviting wives to attend our September meeting and request each member to bring a friend. Everyone enjoyed the fellowship and the chance to get to know each other better.

The Monday Book Study

will begin again on 9/14/26 from 3-4 p.m. for a 10-week study of John Ortberg’s book “All the Places To Go – How Will You Know?” The book explores the many opportunities God offers us and helps us discern our best path forward at any age or in any circumstance.

Spoiler Alert: A key idea throughout the book is “if you are not dead, you are not done”.

The Hemi Hideout!

The Hemi Hideout is a 21,700 sq. ft. Heavy Timber frame, Scissor arched masterpiece that is the largest of its type in Texas. The Amish inspired structure uses no bolts, nails or glue to secure any of the structure, just Oak dowels.

The contents inside is a direct reflection of a lifelong dream fulfilled by owner John Hovas. It all started with his love for muscle cars of the 60’s & 70’s. And all things ventage.

This is a Texas style mancave and enjoyed by all. This is a trip you don’t want to miss!

FAMILY PROMISE GALA

Family Promise will host the Reach The Star gala on October 17 from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. 

The gala will be held at Great Wolf Lodge. The evening will feature personal testimonies from former shelter guests, some silent auction items, a wine pull, and entertainment by Felix And The Fingers.

Adult Bible Study with Bill

The scripture reading for this Sunday comes from Acts 28:17-31. As we wrap our study of the Book of Acts, we see how we can rejoice in the promise that the gospel will be shared with all nations and people.


This class is based on the Cokesbury Adult Bible Studies series, copies of which are provided without cost. I share my own insights and often cover different material than what's in the book. However, you may gain further insights into the lesson if you have the book. I welcome open discussion in our classes.

The Seabrook United Methodist Church Children’s Choir will resume rehearsals on September 13, 2026. We meet right after Sunday worship in the Sanctuary for a 30-minute rehearsal. All children ages Pre-K-4 through 5th grade are welcome to join us. Our goals are to:

Praise God in song; Experience joyful fellowship with each other;

Have lots of fun doing both.

We partner with Care Partners, an organization which ministers to people dealing with memory issues and their caregivers. Once a month we host a gathering at the church, providing social interaction and entertainment and games and a meal.

This process is done online and is required for anyone working with or around children and youth or assisting with church-sponsored events.
