CoAEMSP Establishes Program Directors Focus Group

The Committee on Accreditation of Educational Programs for the EMS Professions (CoAEMSP) Board of Directors recently approved the formation of a Program Directors Focus Group (PDFG).

The PDFG is a consultative group offering expertise and valuable input to the CoAEMSP Board of Directors. In doing so, the group offers feedback and perspective to the CoAEMSP Board, committees, and staff, especially relating to day-to-day operational aspects of CAAHEP accredited and CoAEMSP Letter of Review Paramedic programs. Members of the group are volunteers who will meet via web conference on a quarterly basis. The PDFG is not a governing body, does not set policy, and does not participate in accreditation decisions. Rather, the PDFG is a standing focus group providing a conduit of information flow from program directors responsible for operationalizing accreditation processes to the Board of Directors.

Program directors are invited to review the detailed application information and consider applying. The 24-member PDFG seeks program directors from each NASEMSO region, program director experience level, and type of program. For consideration, please return a completed application packet by March 24, 2023

Questions and additional information are available by contacting Mike Miller, Assistant Director, [email protected].

Annual Reports

Submit by March 31 to enter a drawing for ACCREDITCON

Scott Corcoran, Program Director of the Paramedic program sponsored by Erie Community College, Orchard Park, NY, was the first program to submit their annual report - and within 24 hours of receiving the link! Way to go, Scott!

To incentivize early submission, for all programs that submit their annual report by March 31 at 11:59 PM Central Daylight Time, that program will be entered into a random drawing for one complimentary registration to ACCREDITCON-2023, a $525 value! Programs that have already submitted their Annual Report have been added to the drawing. The drawing will be on April 3, 2023, during CoAEMSP's weekly staff meeting. ACCREDITCON is June 2-3-4 at Omni Louisville.

Already registered for ACCREDITCON? Your registration fee will be refunded, or you can register a colleague from your program. The complimentary registration only applies to ACCREDITCON-2023.

  • “I'm new to my role, and there was a tremendous amount of helpful information presented by extremely knowledgeable and experienced presenters.”

  • “Every resource available for new Program Directors and putting faces to names."
