Dear Fennimore community,

We have been blown away by your support - your support for our businesses, for our students, for our Chamber, and for our friends and neighbors. Each day, I am more and more proud to be a member of this community and am excited to see what lies ahead. I hope you are too!

About Family In Faith
Family In Faith was formed by a group of eight individuals that were called by God to start a different kind of church - one that is not about corporate agendas. They are not governed by a denomination, but by God alone! The church was started by funding with their personal finances and by volunteering their time and talents.
What should you expect at Family In Faith?
Be prepared to make yourself at home. Grab something for breakfast or to drink from the social area and head into the worship area to make yourself comfortable.
Worship Services
Worship services are focused on prayer, scripture and music. Prayers are from the heart and spontaneous. Worship leaders sing a mix of traditional hymns and contemporary Christian songs throughout the service.
Prayer Park
They have an area that has a park bench by the cross. You're welcome to stop in there at any time and just sit and pray. If you have a prayer to share, paper and pens are available for you to write it down and pin it to the cross. It is a wonderful feeling to give it to God and leave it at the cross. They will collect the prayer requests from there.
Meet Renee Thomas, Lead Pastor
I’m blessed to be the Lead Pastor here at Family in Faith. Family in Faith invites you to come worship, where you will feel like family, because you are – we are all God’s children. We are a bible teaching church, focused on God’s word in a Non-traditional setting. We love to worship and give glory to God as well as helping others – so missions are a focal point. We believe that we are to “Go forth and make disciples of all men, sharing the good news to the ends of the earth” and we invite you to come experience God’s goodness.
Have You Considered Co-Working?
We are working with a community member who is evaluating the demand for co-working / shared office space in Grant County.

Do you work from home? Are you a business owner looking to expand in need of office space for their employees or to hold meetings? What are your thoughts on a shared office space or co-working? Would you be interested in utilizing such a space?

If so, share your feedback by taking a short survey at the link below and get entered into a drawing for three $50 Amazon gift cards. Share your feedback by September 8th for your chance to win!
Re-Dedication Ceremony of Veterans Memorial Drive
On Saturday, August 28, Curt Cole and the Fennimore American Legion Post 184 provided a beautiful tribute to Fennimore residents Donald Smith, Pete Novinska, and Francis Mulvey, three friends who grew up together on that very street and died within a year of one another in service of their country.
Tino Novinska, Dave Smith, and Tammy Derrickson, family members of Donald and Pete unveiled the new sign. Mayor Ryan Boebel then presented the the family members with the previous signs as a keepsake.
Thank you to Barb Romberg for capturing the photos featured above and to Tahleel Mohieldin of Channel 3000 for joining our community and sharing this story.

Ribbon Cutting at
Boltax Design Studio
Chamber members visited Boltax Design Studio on Wednesday, August 18 to welcome owner Dana Boltax to the Chamber. Boltax Design Studio takes furniture pieces that are old, worn, broken or just plain ugly and turns them into something beautiful that you will enjoy in your home for years to come. Each piece is carefully chosen for either their uniqueness, quality, or versatility. Have an outdated piece you want to bring new life into? Have that treasure from Grandma, but it just doesn’t fit your decor? Ask Dana how she can transform them into something that you will love and be proud to display.

Those in attendance included Kara Stewart, Kara's Massage Therapy; Holly Straka, Southwest Tech; Peggy Miles, PJ's Daycare LLC and Dwight Parker Public Library; Daniel Glass, Peoples State Bank, Dana (center); Jim Romberg, Fly Fisherman's Lair Guide Service; Ashley Walker, City of Fennimore; Jessica Helms, Fennimore Area Chamber of Commerce, and McKenna Helms, Fennimore High School student volunteer. Gundersen Boscobel Offering Behavioral Health Training
Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital & Clinics are teaming up with the Southwestern Wisconsin Behavioral Health Partnership to host two FREE crisis prevention community trainings: LivingWorks SafeTALK Training and COMET Community Training.

LivingWorks SafeTALK Training
Tuesday, September 21 from 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM
Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital Cafeteria

SafeTALK is an evidence-based community program for anyone who wants to be more comfortable providing support to people who may be struggling with life stressors or potentially thinking of suicide. At a LivingWorks SafeTALK workshop, you’ll learn how to prevent suicide by asking someone about their thoughts of suicide; gain skills in engaged, nonjudgmental listening; and learn how to help the person keep safe by connecting them to an intervention resource for further support. To register, visit https://bit.ly/3Ae2lNf or go to to learn more.
COMET Community Training
(Changing Our Mental & Emotional Trajectory)
Tuesday, September 14 from 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM
Gundersen Boscobel Area Hospital Cafeteria

COMET aims to change the trajectory of someone in that vulnerable space headed towards crisis back towards a place of wellness. A critical factor in changing someone’s trajectory is often another person who says or does something that offers support, care, or treatment and causes a positive change. To register, visit https://bit.ly/3Ch4TvY or go to www.swbhp.org to learn more.
