Celebrating 25 Years - VIDEO

During our Celebration Dinner in November, we debuted the 'Celebrating 25 Years' timeline video. From an initial contribution by founders Charlie and Mary Roberts in 1993 to the celebration activities of 2018, see the philanthropic journey of YOUR Community Foundation.

Grants Bring Harmony to Music Education

This fall, $73,300 was awarded in Farny R. Wurlitzer Foundation Fund Grants to support music education. Recipients include 24 nonprofits and community organizations across the Midwest, including in DeKalb County, IL.

Youth Impact Grants Available

Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) is accepting applications for 2019 YEP Grants . Nonprofit and community organizations located in or serving DeKalb County are encouraged to apply. YEP Grants have a specific purpose, to improve the quality of life for youth in DeKalb County.

Campaign Update - Stronger Together

We are in the final month of raising support for Stronger Together, a campaign designed to build endowment for the DeKalb County Nonprofit Partnership (DCNP).

We are getting closer to our goal of endowing this important program with $122,342 left to go. Donations and/or pledges to the DCNP Endowment Fund received by December 31, 2018 receive a dollar for dollar match.

Year-End Gifts to the Community Foundation

As you plan for year-end giving, here are a few ways to consider giving to the Community Foundation:

Cash or Check Donation: Donations can be made online, in-person, or by mail.
Credit/Debit Card Donation: You can use any major credit card or debit card to make a donation to an existing fund through our secure online system.
Appreciated Stocks, Bonds, and Mutual Funds: With donations of stocks or bonds that have been held for some time, donors can avoid significant capital gains, and the net contribution is larger than the actual cost. A real "win-win" for donor and Community Foundation alike.
Gift of Grain: Giving a gift of grain allows farmers to align generosity with their charitable interests and receive tax savings at the same time.
IRA Charitable Rollover: An option for individuals age 70½ or older. Make the gift of a lifetime in your lifetime.
Life Insurance: Make a donation in the future by naming the Community Foundation as the beneficiary of a life insurance policy.
Estate Planning: Leave your charitable legacy by designating a gift to the Community Foundation in your will.
