Caryl Steimel St. Mary’s DeKalb Scholarship Fund 
Introducing the Caryl Steimel St. Mary’s DeKalb Scholarship Fund . This Fund provides two  scholarships  of $1,000 each, awarded to a boy and girl entering the 4th or 5th grade at St. Mary Catholic School in DeKalb.

The scholarship was created by Roger Steimel to honor the memory of his late wife.

The Schelkopf Family Fund
Announcing the Schelkopf Family Fund , a  donor advised fund  created by the family to align with their charitable interests in the community.

Russell and Bernie Schelkopf moved to DeKalb County in 1959. Together they raised their three sons Michael, Charles, and Steven.

"Our family has spent most of their lives in this community and we value the many opportunities that were made available to us," said Charles. 

$150,360 in Fall Grants Awarded
Through generous donor support, we are excited to announce the distribution of $150,360 in Community Needs Grants this fall. The grants provide support to 32 organizations for a variety of programs and projects that impact DeKalb County.

This grant program is made possible by generous donor support to community impact funds, field of interest funds, and donor advised funds. Thank you donors!

Stories of Generosity   - The prompt was simple. Each person was asked to define generosity or to share a story of a time where they heard about, witnessed, or experienced generosity (giving of one’s time, talent, or treasure). Thanks for listening!

Grants Available For Youth Focused Programs and Projects
Nonprofit and community organizations are invited to submit  YEP Grant  requests , up to $2,500, for programs and projects that impact youth in DeKalb County. Deadline is February 1, 2020.

Requests must directly involve youth, promote youth empowerment and leadership, and be dedicated to the local community.

As you plan for year-end giving, consider this,  gifts to the Community Foundation make a visible and lasting difference in our community.

Giving Option for Farmers and Landowners
Gift of Grain is a special giving option for farmers and landowners. By giving a gift of grain, farmers align generosity with their charitable interests and receive tax savings at the same time.

This giving option is made possible through a collaboration between the DeKalb County Community Foundation and the DeKalb County Farm Bureau Foundation .
