The Editors of Microscopy Today (MTO) encourage and greatly appreciate submission of articles from microscope users as well as microscope manufacturers and suppliers. Of particular interest are summaries of in-depth articles published in peer-reviewed journals and articles that describe new equipment and applications. Microscopy Today is open access and there are no charges for publishing in MTO. The Technologists’ Forum is free to join and provides a community for those who work in the technical areas of microscopy sample preparation and imaging or anyone interested in expanding their skills.

We are excited to announce that the Tech Forum will be working with a few new symposia organizers for the 2023 meeting. Below is our list of sessions being developed. We welcome your suggestions and feedback for potential speakers and Mega Booth activities/demo ideas.

Professional Development Survey

Do you need additional training or want to better prepare for employer expectations? The Tech Forum, in conjunction with MSA Student Council, has prepared a survey to find out which skills early and established scientists would like to learn. MSA members across the country have established 25 local affiliated societies (LAS). These LAS hold regular meetings and social events and publish newsletters to provide regional networking and outreach opportunities for the local microscopy community. LAS Activities

Texas Society for Microscopy (TSM) will be hosting its 57^th annual meeting at UT Dallas (Davidson-Gundy Alumni Center) from March 16-18, 2023. Click here for further information.

Microscopy Society of Northeastern Ohio (MSNO) will be hosting its annual May Conference jointly with the Cleveland-Society for Applied Spectroscopy (SAS) at John Carroll University on May 24, 2023. Further information will follow and will be posted on the MSNO webpage.

LAS Quarterly Business Meeting

LAS Programs

MSA provides LAS support with Tour Speakers, Grants-in-Aid, and Special Meeting grants. If you are planning any activities for your LAS, please consider applying for one of these funding sources. Details can be found here.

MSA FIGs are groups of MSA members who have organized, with the approval of the MSA Council, to promote a specific discipline relevant to microscopy or microanalysis. Each FIG must have a minimum of 10 members to remain active. All MSA members are eligible and encouraged to participate in the existing FIGs. There is an annual fee of $15 per FIG joined.
