Chamber members don't just operate businesses; they are the heartbeat of our communities, making a profound impact in a host of ways. Beyond providing essential products and services, they are job creators, employing thousands of local residents and contributing vital tax revenue to our communities. Corporate Transparency Toolkit Available

Under the Corporate Transparency Act, U.S. small businesses need to file beneficial ownership information reports (BOIR) with the Department of the Treasury by January 1, 2025. Not filing by the deadline puts small business owners at risk of fines and criminal penalties. The law was enacted in 2021 to combat illicit activity, including tax fraud, money laundering, and terrorism financing, by capturing more ownership information for specific U.S. businesses.

Businesses must provide their legal name and trademarks, as well as their current U.S. address. They’ll also need to provide a taxpayer identification number and specify the jurisdiction where they were formed or registered.

The U. S. Chamber of Commerce has created a free step-by-step guide to help complete the reports.

Vision Zero: A Roadmap to Safer Streets

Over the past 5 years, crashes on our roads have killed or seriously injured over 1,000 people per year.

Transportation safety is an essential focus of the Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) and one of the major goals identified in the MPO’s Long-Range Transportation Plan, Destination 2050. The Vision Zero Action Plan will address the safety-related needs identified in Destination 2050 and serve as a roadmap for the 97 communities in the region to implement projects that meet the goals of Vision Zero.

As the MPO develops the plan, it's important for you and your employees to let your voice be heard. Check out the Vision Zero website for information on crash data in our region and a survey where you can share your thoughts on problem areas and potential solutions.

New England's Fastest-Growing Companies 2025

The Boston Globe is launching a new list to recognize companies across the New England region that have achieved impressive revenue growth over the past few years. This effort seeks to highlight companies of all sizes that have adapted, persevered, and driven economic growth despite challenging economic conditions over the past few years.

We are looking for companies that have grown substantially (revenue of at least $100,000 in 2020 and $1.5 million in 2023) to register for inclusion in our inaugural list here. The process is simple and free. Eligibility details and answers to FAQs also can be found here.

Why apply? If your company meets the criteria, being featured on the list will give your company the recognition it deserves when it is published on bostonglobe.com, with the highest-ranking companies also appearing in Globe Magazine in spring 2025.

Companies are invited to apply now.

Manufacturing Grant Program

For over 45 years, Industrial Assessment Centers (IACs) around the country have operated to assist small and medium-sized manufacturers to save energy, improve productivity, and reduce waste by providing no-cost technical assessments—and training the next generation of energy-savvy engineers in the process.

The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law allocated $400 million to the IAC network at community colleges, labor unions, and trade schools, as well as introduce implementation grants to help manufacturers fund the project recommendations included in energy assessments.

The IAC Implementation Grants Program provides grants of up to $300,000 per project at a 50% cost share.
