From the President: Moderna Executive to Keynote Annual Meeting |
Yesterday, Moderna filed for emergency use authorization for its COVID-19 vaccine. Vaccine trials have shown the drug to be 94% effective against the disease.
We are pleased to announce that Scott Nickerson, the Site Head of Moderna’s Manufacturing Facility and Senior VP of US Manufacturing, will be the guest speaker at our Annual Meeting and Awards event on Friday, January 22nd from 12:00 - 1:00 PM. Mr. Nickerson will share with us information about Moderna's ability to develop a successful vaccine in less than a year.
The Annual Meeting will be held virtually this year and in addition to the guest speaker will feature our election of officers and directors and our annual awards presentations. Registration will be open soon.
We are adapting our Annual Awards this year to focus on businesses and individuals who have responded uniquely to the challenges presented by COVID-19.
Please help us recognize a business or person you know that has done something special to help others during the pandemic or who has changed their business model to find success in new ways. This could include making or distributing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), frontline workers, or anything else that is a positive response to the pandemic.

Rockland Trust recently announced the appointment of Alastair Ironside to Chief Marketing Officer. Alastair brings 25 years of financial industry experience and expertise in corporate marketing, management consulting, and strategic planning to this position.
In his role, Alastair will be responsible for continuing to build Rockland Trust’s distinct and robust brand while developing marketing strategies to earn new customer relationships for the Bank as well as nurture and strengthen existing relationships. He will play an integral part in the Bank’s strategic planning process and marketing and advertising effectiveness.

Norwood Bank is once accepting donations to their Holiday Sharing Tree to assist local families.
For safety purposes they are requesting Gift Cards in place of mitten tags and wrapped gifts. Any card amount would help a needy family buy toys, food and clothing. Gift Card suggestions include Target, Walmart and Amazon.

ComForCare franchise owners, Su and Sumit Madan were awarded the 2020 Franchise of the Year award at ComForCare’s 18th annual franchise conference. Franchise of the Year is the most prestigious award following Caregiver of the Year.
The Madans were recognized out of more than 200 locations for being high-level producers in the franchise system, creating and nurturing a strong local team, and being selfless givers among other qualities.
