Why I Give and Why to the Center of Theological Inquiry
Special Feature from CTI Board Chair, Dr. Fred Anderson
Why do I give?
I give because my parents raised me to do so. I was taught that giving is one of the things that makes humans unique - part of what it means to have been created in God's image - and that what God has given us is meant to be shared not hoarded. God meets our generosity with generosity.

RESEARCH INSIGHTS: Theology & Economic Inequality
CTI's Associate Director Joshua Mauldin writes our first Research Report in a new series for our magazine Fresh Thinking, distilling the theological insights gained from dialogue with colleagues in other fields in our interdisciplary inquiries, in this case with economists on economic inequality.

Underscoring Connections to Understand Faith

Douglas Ottati, CTI Member and Professor of Reformed Theology & Justice at Davidson College, discusses his new book, A Theology for the Twenty-First Century. It is a single volume systematic theology, exploring what it means to understand the God of the Bible as Creator and Redeemer in light of both ancient texts & traditions and contemporary questions. Ottati worked on this volume while a Senior Fellow in CTI’s Inquiry on the Societal Implications of Astrobiology. He reflects with host Joshua Mauldin on why the dialogue with science matters for theology.

Our Mission:
We convene leading thinkers in an interdisciplinary research environment where theology makes an impact on global concerns, and we share those discoveries to change the way people think and act.
