Doll Raffle  
Tickets available until December 8

Win a doll, her wardrobe, and cradle for that special someone! The value of the prize is $400. Tickets are $2 each, 3 for $5, or 15 for $20. The draw is December 8. The money raised will be used for Daisy Readers (special audiobook players) for the visually impaired.  
Lions Gate Youth Orchestra
Saturday, December 15, 2 - 3 p.m.

The Lions Gate Youth Orchestra will visit NVCL to put on a performance of classical music for the holiday season.
The orchestra is made up of musicians 14-19 years old and seeks to increase accessibility to classical music for the North Shore community. Drop-in

Dare to Be Heard

If you're a writer and want to read your work to a non-critical audience, why not join us? Dare welcomes writers at all stages of the journey, and interested listeners too. This is a North Shore Writers' Association event and takes place in the second floor boardroom. Drop-in

Homescale Mushroom Production
Tuesday, December 4, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.

Willoughby Arevalo will show us reliable, low-cost techniques to grow edible and medicinal mushrooms and their mycelium at home and in the garden or on the farm, using common ingredients and agricultural by-products.   Registration required

Teen and Tween volunteering

The Library offers several volunteering opportunities for teens and tweens. Join our Teen Advisory Council, Tween Advisory Group, or the Teen Art and Promotion Group. Join the Read Along program, or help with library events! 

LEGO Robotics, Part 3
Tuesdays, December 4, 11, 18, 3:45 - 5 p.m.

For tweens in grades 4 to 7.  You will work in small groups with teen mentors over three weeks to design and build your own LEGO EV3 robot! Please register for Lego Robotics Part 1 or 2 if you have no experience with Lego Robotics, or speak with the Teen Services Librarian if those sessions have passed. Registration required
 
Board to Death
Wednesdays, December 5, 12, 19, 6:30 - 8 p.m.

For ages 16 and up. Come and play board games! All are welcome and new games are introduced regularly. This is a casual, fun, welcoming atmosphere and you don't have to be good at board games. Usually held in The Room, but check @yunorthshore on Instagram to confirm time and place. Drop-in
 
Teen Gaming
Fridays, December 7, 21, 3:30 - 5:15 p.m.

For grades 7 and up. Drop into The Room to play your favourite "E" or "T" rated games for Wii or PS4, or play board games. Bring your own, or use ours. Drop-in

Snack and Chat Day
Wednesday, December 12, 3:30 - 5 p.m.

For grade 7 - 12. What?! There's free food in the Library?! Come to the room to study, socialize, play some board games and share some awesome treats with your friends! Drop-in
   
Teen Art and Promotion Group
Thursday, December 13, 3:30 - 5 p.m.

Do you love art and/or graphic design? Join this group and put your creative skills to work! You will get to create artwork and promote Library programs. You may also curate teen artwork in the Library, or assist with creating themed decorations for the teen room ! Registration required.
   
Teen Movie Matinee
Friday, December 14, 3:30 - 6 p.m.
