December 2024

Hello December

Ahh the Holidays. Such a special time of year and one which encourages all good things; more love, more respect, and more gratitude.

For all of us at Pine Lane Nursery, we have the utmost appreciation for each of you reading this newsletter; our customers, our partners, and our hardworking team. What a blessing it is to operate a small business in such a wonderful community. We would not be here if it weren't for all of you and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

As we enjoy a bustling Holiday Season with our outdoor Christmas Tree Lot and Holiday Gift Shop, we are also approaching the year end and preparing for a spring filled with sunshine and happy faces. We are busy re-organizing the nursery and placing all of our tree, shrub, flower, pottery, gift and supply orders for 2025.

We wish you health and happiness throughout the holiday season and a prosperous and healthy New Year.

Garden Thymes

December Edition

Nature looks dead in winter because her life is gathered into her heart. She withers the plant down to the root that she may grow it up again fairer and stronger. She calls her family together within her inmost home to prepare them for being scattered abroad upon the face of the earth.

~Hugh Macmillan, "Rejuvenescence,"

General Landscaping

  • Keep an eye on any plants that you brought inside for winter to ensure you didn't bring any bugs or critters in with them!
  • Refill your bird feeders to help our feathery friends through the winter

Shrubs, Perennials & Bulbs

  • Mulch around roses to insulate them from cold temperatures
  • Cut back perennials! Once perennials are dormant, you can divide them for more blooms this spring!

Veggies, Fruit & Herbs

  • Check on your winter crops and make sure to quickly remove any that may have spoiled
  • Mulch root veggies for harvest through the winter
  • Start exploring seed options for spring!

Remember...the key to your plant's survival through the winter months is:

Snowfalls are not enough.

Quote of the month:
As we look to the new year, hold on to what is good and let go of what is bad. It really is that simple.
