This month we shine our light on our Maryland Legal Aid Partner!
Your unwavering dedication plays a pivotal role in empowering our Prince George's County residents! Your efforts to ensure access to vital resources and legal services are instrumental in dismantling the barriers to employment that many face.
Maryland Legal Aid (MLA) provides life-changing civil legal assistance to eligible residents in every part of the State. Since 1911, MLA has provided high-quality legal services to low-income, and marginalized individuals and communities--helping them remedy their civil legal issues and become empowered to overcome challenges, achieve stability and independence, and an overall better life.
MLA is dedicated to preserving the basic human needs and basic human rights of clients, particularly as they navigate the justice system. MLA staff, pro bono attorneys, community partners, and general supporters all play important roles in ensuring that the legal playing field is leveled so that those most in need achieve equal access to justice. It is because of this diverse support that MLA is able to be a voice to tens of thousands of economically disadvantaged and vulnerable Marylanders every year.

ERNESTINE CHAMBERS
Ernestine Chambers is a results oriented, human capital, planning specialist. supported by progressively responsible experience over a 17-year professional career. She brings extensive knowledge in developing teams in government, private and public sectors. Ernestine is the recipient of the National Association of Workforce Development Professional’s 2016 Jodie Spiegel Award. She is a national trainer in diversity, equity & inclusion, results-based accountability framework, leadership development & coaching, all while being proficient in operational service delivery.
Ernestine’s experience in training facilitation spans a wide range of industries and includes non-profit grassroot organizations and large corporations. Over the past 7 years, Ernestine has trained over 1,500 individuals, 100 teams, coached 52 executive leaders, and built operational capacity for organizations of approximately $5.6 million through proposal/grant writing. Ernestine’s diverse background, coupled with her innovative facilitation approach has enabled her to provide practical trainings with meaningful impact to upskill staff and organizations alike.
