December 2025

President’s note:

Hello Ladies!

What a fantastic month on and off the course. We’ve enjoyed great weather, great camaraderie, and some truly impressive shots. Thank you all for bringing such wonderful energy to the league each week. As we move into the next month, remember golf is a game of patience, focus, and fun—so keep smiling and swinging!

We had amazing participation in our FIVE golf leagues as well as great fun at our monthly golf event at Spring Run. And a wonderful kick off dinner at Naples Lakes that was thoroughly enjoyed by all – AND raised $4,000 for our two charities-Harry Chapin food bank and LPGA Girls' Golf / USGA!!

We had a strong turnout at the CME Group Tour Championship – tickets are free for us and provided an opportunity to see the world’s best player right here at home. Congratulations to Jeeno Thitikul for the win and the $4 million first-place prize at Tiburon Golf Club!!

We have our Marquee event, The Jingle Bell Open coming up on December 7, this event has been ongoing for many years and is always a ton of fun. Be sure to submit any photos to Sara or myself so we can share the great fun!

We will be tracking and posting golf opportunities with LPGA Amateurs National as their schedule gets finalized for 2026. Stay tuned and we hope to offer many more exciting play opportunities!

As part you your annual membership you are entitled to many of the wonderful discounts and partnerships provided by LPGA Amateurs:

*15% off at PGA Superstores across the USA – just show you member ID

*Discount on PGA pass book – details to follow

Our member services team will highlight additional benefits on a regular(monthly) basis

Tip of the Month: “Perfect Your Putting Routine”: Take a moment to line up your shot, visualize your path, and keep a consistent rhythm. Most strokes are made on the green—make them count!

Thank you all for another wonderful month of fellowship, competition, and fun. Let’s keep the energy going—see you on the course!

November Golf Event Update

November Golf Event

What a great time we all had at our November Kick Off Scramble Event at Spring Run Golf Club. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, and the course was in great shape. The format for this month was an ABCD four-person scramble and based on the feedback, everyone really enjoyed it. It gave us all a chance to meet and play with members we may not have played with before. We will definitely be doing more of this type of format in the coming months.

The winners for the November event were:

3rd Place – The team of Tracy Wildenhaus, Maureen Sluga, Kim McDonald and Kathy Headson – Net Score of 58 – scorecard playoff – back nine 37

2nd Place – the team of Lisa Kelley, Barb Murtagh and Suzanne Wade – Net Score of 58 - scorecard playoff – back nine 36

1st Place – the team of Victoria Holmes, Lisa Holden and Doris McGuire – Net Score of 55

Proximity Winners:

Hole 4 – Dawn Pallett – 12’ 6”

Hole 6 – Lesley Corydon – 6’ 9”

Hole 14 – Sara Eriksson – 1” (woo hoo….so close)

Hole 17 – No winners

I am working on lining up events for January and February and will announce those once they are confirmed.

Season Kick-Off Dinner Updates

I want to thank all who attended the Nov 18. Kick-Off Dinner. It was a great event and to all my volunteers, I appreciated all your help. Thank you to those who donated baskets and items along with a shoutout to Susie Opperman who solicited golf foursomes for our raffles and auction.

More social events are being looked into for March-June. If you have any suggestions, I’d love to hear from you.

2025 Biggest Loser Results

This year's Biggest Loser Handicap competition began in June with a total of 86 players.

The competition ran until November 1. All players who had not completed the minimum requirement of 10 rounds were the first to be eliminated from the competition. That left 40 players remaining.

Of these 40, only 16 players succeeded in improving their handicap. The rest either remained the same, or ended up with a higher handicap. The remaining players were divided into 2 flights based on their starting handicaps from 11 - 24 and 24.1 and above.

The winners who managed to improve their handicaps by more than five strokes are as follows:

Suzanne Wade in the 2nd flight

Margie Rotchford, who is not only the winner in the first flight but also the overall Biggest Loser for 2025.

Congratulations to all the participants, and especially to our winners for their remarkable achievements.
