December 2024

President’s note:

Well, they’re back…and out on the courses. Welcome to all our northern friends for “season”. We have had a busy month with the Kick-off events. Jennie Taylor handed the baton to Bonnie Blanchard as her replacement on the board of Directors handling all the non-golf events for the chapter for 2025 at the Quarry, and Dawn Pallett put together a great scramble event at Quail Run to kick-off our 2024-25 season!

Of course, we have one of our best received events scheduled for Dec 8-the Jingle Bell Open! There was a time change from the original postings so be sure to read your emails!

We have a travel opportunity coming up in February. We will be traveling to Clewiston to defend our Sugar Bowl Trophy! More details will be out shortly, but this is always a fun trip across the middle of the state.

Consider participating as part of the team-all skill levels are welcomed and I encourage newer member to join in on this fun tournament.

Volunteering a little more “behind the scenes”; Marla Huxhold and Sue Conway did a great job as captains for the CME Tour Championship event on hole 5 at Tiburon. We provided a team of volunteers for marshalling duties for the 4-day event. Thanks to all that volunteered and helped keep the integrity of the game in place for the LPGA professionals.

In addition to our 4 League play coordination, Michelle Riordan is working over-time to help provide more opportunities for women to get out and golf. Be sure to check out her messages for golf at Shell Point on a couple of Tuesdays each month. The tee times are set up with the Lee Charlotte chapter and golf genius.
