👧 🚀Helping Children Grow in Every Way: What Early Educators Can Do

If you’ve ever watched a group of young children #play, you know their #development doesn’t unfold in tidy lines—it dances, wiggles, leaps, and giggles its way through the day. One moment a child is practicing social skills by sharing a toy truck, and the next they’re shouting out new vocabulary words while pretending to be a dinosaur. ❤️ Safety Spotlight: Emergency Preparedness in Georgia Child Care

🚨 Choking Awareness & Response

Georgia DECAL requires at least one staff member trained in CPR/First Aid to be on-site whenever children are present. With mealtime and snack-time being high-risk periods, consider adding regular choking-response drills to your safety routine.

These drills help your team:

  • Recognize signs of partial vs. full airway obstruction
  • Practice infant vs. child techniques
  • Coordinate emergency procedures smoothly
  • Prevent incidents through better supervision and safer food prep practices

🌡️ Warm-Weather Safety — Even Outside of Summer

Georgia’s temperatures can swing unexpectedly. Providers should:

  • Ensure safe hydration practices
  • Check playground equipment for heat
  • Monitor air quality during outdoor play (pollen counts, ozone days)
  • Adjust outdoor time based on weather advisories

🎉 Thank You, Georgia Providers — and Happy December!

Your work brings stability, love, and learning to children all across Georgia — and December is the perfect time to acknowledge the impact you make. Thank you for your dedication, creativity, compassion, and professionalism.
