Greetings from John
By working together remotely and in-person, you and our Neutrals have continued to provide mediation and arbitration services for your clients during these difficult times. We congratulate you, and we thank you for this opportunity to be of assistance.
In early June, we convened - remotely - our 27th Annual Training Conference for all our Neutrals to augment their skills with the very best training possible.
To enrich this year’s training, we invited a keynote speaker, Eric Galton of Austin, Texas. Mr. Galton has been a leading mediation practitioner and author for decades. He assessed many developing factors to conclude that remote mediation is here to stay as a viable option to in-person work. In addition, he thought that many hybrid forms of in-person sessions combined with remote techniques would emerge. He triggered a robust conversation among our Neutrals regarding this important topic. We thank him for his significant input to our ongoing efforts to strive for Excellence.
Later in the day, we discussed the use of opening presentations by counsel at mediation sessions. We discussed the factors that impact the decision, ultimately made by counsel, to present or not to present. We ended the day by studying the many issues and techniques involved in handling mediations with multiple parties.
It was a great day of learning!
I am pleased to announce that several new Neutrals have recently come on board. (See below.) Please join us in welcoming these outstanding individuals.
All our Neutrals stand ready to help you and your clients when you need us the most. Please call upon us if we may be of assistance.
