Are you looking for a way to make a real difference in someone's life? Consider becoming a tutor at the Family Literacy Center. Our students need individuals, like yourself, to help with GED preparation, adult literacy, and more. By sharing just a few hours of your time each week, you could make a world of difference in someone's life.

We provide training and support, and our next tutor workshop is scheduled for Friday, November 10th, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. It will take place at the Family Literacy Center located at 311 Higgins St, Lapeer. Jackson struggled with online schooling during the COVID-19 pandemic. He came to the Family Literacy Center wanting help and guidance to get his GED. In 4 short months, he succeeded in his goal! Jackson is enrolled in college and will be starting this winter.

“Coming to FLC really helped streamline the process of getting my GED. I was unsure of how to approach studying for the tests, scheduling, and taking the actual tests but thanks to everyone at FLC, I was able to get the help I needed to graduate!”
