THE ANNUAL SHEPTEMBER MATCH CHALLENGE IS BACK!

When You Donate In Sheptember, Your Donation Will Be Matched!*

German Shepherd Rescue of OC has been challenged to raise $22,000 for our dogs during the month of Sheptember. If we are able to reach this ambitious goal our homeless shepherds will earn a matching gift of $22,000 from a generous donor! This is a huge opportunity for us to raise much-needed funds to care for the dogs that are depending on us. We can't afford to miss the mark, so we need your help:

Can you make a donation in any amount during our Sheptember Match Challenge?

Your gift will go twice as far when you donate this month!

*up to $22,000 cumulatively

Our most recent rescue is sweet Penny and her 8 newborn puppies. This poor momma dog was forced to give birth in a dirty yard with no protection from the 110-degree heat. Her family didn't even provide her with a blanket, let alone any shelter! Penny did her best to care for her brood, digging a hole to find cooler soil. A devoted animal lover learned of the situation and rushed out to help. She found the 4-day-old babies, with eyes still closed, strewn all over the yard, and momma in distress. We can't imagine what kind of family would allow animals to suffer like this.

There was no time to think about how we would pay for this family's care--we just had to act. After a quick vet visit, Penny and her babies are now in cozy quarters and receiving support from GSROC caregivers. When she arrived, Penny was exhausted, but she is beginning to decompress. Looking into her eyes, we see relief, trust, and gratitude.

Your gift during Sheptember Match will help Penny and dogs just like her during their darkest times.

Also in this week are Jolla and Ballast, 10-month-old siblings that were being abused by two children in the home. The mother reported that she had to put cameras in the house and locks on the children's doors to prevent them from tormenting the dogs. One child tried to force the dogs to drink scalding water; another pretended to pet them, but secretly pinched their ears until they cried. Jolla and Ballast are going to require extensive training from an expert in order to recover from the cruelty that they endured. Your gift will help us provide them with a fresh start.
