Texas A&M Law & Education building, is set to open on Aug. 5
A transformational investment for Downtown Fort Worth. Texas A&M’s growing downtown campus is projected to generate more than 25,000 jobs and $3 billion in annual economic impact, reinforcing Downtown Fort Worth’s position as a hub for innovation, education, and economic growth. This exciting development will help shape the future of our city for generations to come.

Water Gardens Improvements
The City of Fort Worth Park Department is preparing plans for needed improvements to the Water Gardens. Among the repairs and replacements are pumps, pipes, storm drainage, electrical systems and hardscape and landscape plantings. This will be a multi-phased effort with needed improvements at the Active Pool likely the first in line.

- 538 Traffic Stops
- 188 Noise Violations for mufflers, loud music, etc.

Dome Demo
Demolition of the Convention Center arena dome has been pushed back to the first quarter of 2027. Pre-demolition planning and remediation work is taking place now. The expanded convention center is scheduled to open in Q4, 2029.

Summer Visitor Traffic Up
The PID's Downtown Ambassadors have been busy this month. Thousands of soccer fans have been visiting, adding to the usual summer pedestrain and hotel counts. As of this writing, cell phone counts in downtown average 63,000 which are up 13% from this time last year and Ambassador activity is up more than 300% from 2025, with 4,577 documented interactions ad services compared to 1,131 at this time last year.

Water Utility to repair a leak on Commerce Street between 5th and 6th Streets.
The water utility needs to repair a leak on a 12-inch cast iron water main in Commerce Street between 5th and 6th Street. The Embassy Suite will be without water while the repair is made.
Sunday, July 12, 2026, beginning at 10PM to minimize operational impacts. The work is expected to take approximately 6 hours to complete.
Traffic control: Barricades will close both northbound lanes of Commerce Street between 5th and 6th Street. Both northbound and southbound traffic will be shifted into the southbound lanes through the work zone.
