URGENT NEED - Cleaning/Sanitizing Supplies - needed by multiple nonprofits still providing services including food distribution, child care for healthcare workers, etc

Items for Patients  –  Lackey Clinic  is in need of Oral thermometers, Pulse oximeters, Automatic arm blood pressure cuffs, and masks to allow for telemedicine visits.

Help Packing Food Boxes –  Virginia Peninsula Foodbank  is in need of help to pack food boxes at various locations and on various days.

Greater Williamsburg Basic Needs Map COVID Community Response  –  This map of resources is designed to help anyone in the community in need in the area.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Virginia Peninsula are providing grab-and-go dinners to area youth at eight of our Hampton and Newport News Clubs.

The Williamsburg Farmers Market  has moved the market to online ordering with free delivery for Williamsburg/James City County and pick up for people outside of that area.

The American Red Cross faces a severe blood shortage due to an unprecedented number of blood drive cancellations in recent days. Accordiing to the Red Cross, "Donating is a safe process and people should not hesitate to give or receive blood or platelets." To review local blood drives and make your appt, click here .

HOW  NetworkPeninsula  IS HELPING -   We are keeping the lines of communication wide open with our nonprofits to ensure that we are helping in the best way we can to help them remain sustainable, able to continue to help those in need. 

  • With the use of an online messaging platform, we have discussion boards open all day with continuous communications from our nonprofits re: resources available to help them and help each other. The coordination of services we have seen has been awe-inspiring! 

  • We have launched a series of short webinars on topics impacting nonprofits during COVID, including Messaging, Effective Board Meetings Online, Taking Care of Employees, and more.

  • We continue to update our website with the most recent needs from our nonprofits, as well as services still being provided for people in need and how to access these services.

  • Lastly, we are curating all of the many resources that are coming in through email and other channels, onto one page by category and with quick access to full links.
