togoLent "To Go"
On Sunday, February 23, you will have the opportunity to pick up a Lent "To Go" box. This box will be filled with portable symbols of the season to encourage devotion and reflection about Christ and how his Lenten journey may inspire our journey. This is d esigned to provide individual and family time with God and to ignite spirit-filled conversations in our hearts as well as around our tables. Pick up your box in the Atrium or Narthex.
LshipNPPC Leadership Retreat
All current NPPC leadership are invited to gather on Thursday, March 5 from 6-8p in Westminster Hall for a delicious dinner, welcoming and getting to know newly ordained deacons and elders, meeting ministry leaders, and some things to think about for 2020. We hope that all active deacons, elders, and ministry team leaders participate in the retreat and training. We look forward to seeing you on March 5. Please RSVP to Vikki Myers ( [email protected]) before Sunday, March 1.
quiltNPPC Quilters
When the children's choir robes were replaced in 1957, quilters at NPPC recycled the blue and white fabric into quilt blocks in the Irish Chain pattern. The quilts were then sold to raise monies for local charities, leading to the start of the NPPC Quilters. The tradition continues today as quilters meet in Westminster Hall on the second through the last Thursday of each month to enjoy fellowship, improve their quilting skills, and turn pieced quilt tops into useful, beautiful quilts. They also sandwich and base quilt tops for those who want to do their own quilting. The monies collected benefit charities around Blount County and the mission fund for NPPC youth.

If you are interested in joining us, have a top you'd like quilted, or are just curious about what quilting is like, we'd enjoy seeing you some Thursday. You'll be welcome; you don't need to be an experienced quilter; and we do give lessons.
antiqueAntiques & Collectibles Donations
If you have been cleaning out your attic, storage unit, or china cabinet to donate collectibles and furniture you no longer need or want, we are looking for items for the Spring Antiques & Collectibles Sale on March 26-27. Small antiques and collectibles can be labeled "A&C" and left in the donation room next to Westminster Hall. However, if you are donating furniture, please contact Donna Booher (865-384-7723) to set up a specific time to leave the furniture item.

jordWelcome Maddie & Jordan
On January 26, we said our goodbyes to the FirstLight band. They've had some new and very exciting career opportunities which will not leave time to continue as our worship team. But good news! Maddie and Jordan McCullough will be stepping in, at least for the short term, to provide music for that service. They are no strangers to NewProv-both are recent MC graduates who sang in our choir for 4 years, and Jordan and Maddie have also been musicians and worship leaders at our 11p Christmas Eve acoustic service for the last several years. They perform frequently around town at the Vienna Coffee House, Broadway Social, and the Bird and the Book. We look forward to hearing from them on Sunday mornings!
greenGreen Team Tip
Switch off appliances when they are not in use. Leaving electric items such as computers, audio-visual equipment, and kitchen appliances on "standby" uses electricity. If you are not using these appliances, you should unplug or switch them off completely.
