Last year, ECOEA welcomed over 100 members to the Summer Leadership Workshop from local associations in Carroll, Columbiana, Holmes, Stark, Tuscawaras, and Wayne Counties. Members gathered at Jackson Memorial High School for a variety of PD, lunch, door prizes and networking.

O.N.E.-Ohio's New Educators is a community of young educators within OEA who support and empower their members to become effective teachers and leaders. This summer, O.N.E. has planned Classroom Management Training professional development at OEA Headquarters on July 10, 22, 23 , or August 6. Please pass this along to educators in their first 5 years.

OEA Minority Leadership Training Program will be held July 19-20 at the Columbus Marriott University Area with the theme We Design the Paradigm . Registration is $10 and includes conference fees, meals, and overnight accomodations if needed. Reigistration opens April 1 on the OEA website. The MLT Program targets ethnic minorities and provides training for inclusive leadership in our association.
California Casualty is offering Music & Arts Grants of $250 to educators to offset cuts in school funding for the arts. Application is on-line and easy!

My School, My Voice -Help evaluate how the Every Student Succeeds Act has been implemented in your school by completing a brief survey here School Checklist . ECOEA will use the data to provide PD in areas of need. Over-testing, healthy meals, all day kindergarten, class size, school libraries--are these important issues in your school district? The My School, My Voice website also provides links to Federal Grants for funding for specific programs. Check it out!
FREE COLLEGE! -Did we get your attention?
As a member of OEA, you and your family, are entitled to the HIGHER EDUCATION BENEFIT . This benefit is available to you as a member, your family, your grandchildren, stepchildren, stepgrandchildren, and your financial dependents. It is open to OEA-Retired members and their families also!
After applying any federal grants or reimbursement, the balance of the tuition is FREE.
