ECT Welcomes Alma Ellis

ECT is pleased to welcome Alma Ellis to our team as our new Board Liaison and Administrative Specialist. Alma is a tenured C-suite assistant who has achieved success with nationally recognized businesses including Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital and Rotech Healthcare. While at Sacred Heart Hospital, Alma simultaneously supported the President/CEO, the Board of Directors, and the Vice President of Operations. She has extensive experience managing Board logistics, providing administrative and strategic support regarding Board matters, supporting Board engagement strategies, and providing accurate and timely documentation of Board and Committee meetings. Finally, and most importantly, Alma has a proven record of discretion and confidentiality.

On a more personal note, Alma is a sixth generation Escambia County resident. She is the mother of two intelligent, ambitious, beautiful daughters and is anxiously awaiting the birth of her first grandchild.

Program Committee is Formed

The Escambia Children's Trust has received several unsolicited proposals. In response, the Board voted to form a new standing committee - the Program Committee - to review unsolicited applications for matching or sole source grants.

The Program Committee will review all unsolicited applications and make one of the following three recommendations for consideration and vote by the full Board: 1) to squash the application because it does not align with the Trust's strategic plan for 2022-2023; 2) advance the application for full Board consideration for a matching or sole-source award; or 3) suggest the Board consider issuing a competitive solicitation for proposed services.

Extended: ITB for Conflict Counsel

The Escambia Children's Trust seeks responsive bids from qualified law firms to serve as counsel in the event of a conflict of interest for ECT’s general counsel, Clark Partington Attorneys at Law.

The term of the resulting contract will be one year with options for two additional years. The award determination will be based on the best interest of ECT.

The submission deadline for this ITB has been extended until a vendor has been identified and approved by the Board.
