We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new brand for North Kawartha! We are a small, rural community and take great pride in our natural heritage, our people, and our way of life. Our new brand is a true reflection of who we are and what we stand for; a community that is strong, resilient, and welcoming to all. Our new logo features the iconic imagery of our region - a proud deer, reflecting over water while the sun rises overhead. The colours we have chosen - greens, blues, and orange, are a reflection of our landscape, and represent the four distinct seasons in the North Kawartha.
We also have a new tagline: Connecting community, nature, and spirit. This tagline captures the character of what makes our Township so special, and we hope it resonates with you too.
Starting Friday, March 24, 2023, you'll notice that certain communication channels including our website and social media accounts will take on the new brand. Over the coming weeks, we'll continue to roll out the new brand across additional touch points throughout the Township.

Further action will ensure province is ready to build more homes as market conditions improve

Today, the Ontario government introduced the Helping Homebuyers, Protecting Tenants Act as it continues to take a responsible, targeted approach to deliver on its plan to build 1.5 million homes by 2031, while laying a strong foundation to make life easier and more affordable for people across the province.
If passed, the proposed changes would further strengthen homebuyer protections, support tenants and streamline the rules around land-use planning.
“Our government has made real progress in tackling Ontario’s housing supply crisis, with current housing starts remaining above historic averages”, said Steve Clark, Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing. “Like the rest of North America, Ontario is experiencing challenging headwinds that are slowing down new home construction, including inflation, soaring interest rates and labour shortages. Despite these challenges, our government will continue to take action to ensure Ontario is ready to build more homes as market conditions improve.”

“While Ontario is not immune to the challenges facing the global economy, our government has proven that our responsible, targeted plan is the right plan to navigate these uncertain times,” said Peter Bethlenfalvy, Minister of Finance. “Our government is continuing with our plan to build a strong Ontario that the people of this province can be proud of, now and into the future.”
As the government continues to deliver on its plan, it is also projecting to balance the budget next year, three years earlier than forecast in the 2022 Budget. Highlights contained in the 2023 Budget include...
