familial hypercholesterolemia
Thank you for being part of the FH Foundation!
FH can be one of the great success stories of our time.  Yes, FH is genetic, chronic, and life-threatening.  But, unlike so many disorders, it is manageable!  Treatments are available and diagnosis is easy.  If FH is found early and treated consistently, people live longer, healthier lives.  We know this is true.

The key is to find FH - to help people make the connection between their family's history and their own cholesterol levels.

Together, we can raise awareness of familial hypercholesterolemia and save lives.

Thanks to all of you - our FH Foundation Members - today, our programs are reaching patients, doctors and policy makers, and we are getting the message out.  But, we still have a long way to go and we can't do it without you.

Stacey Lane

Stacey Lane, bottom center, with family

Stacey has known she had familial hypercholesterolemia (FH) almost her whole life.  Her father had his first heart attack when he was 36 and sadly, he died of a heart attack when Stacey was just 6 years old.

Stacey's family understood that she and her brother had inherited high cholesterol from their father, putting them at high risk for early heart disease.  The family took action to manage that risk and found the right doctors to help them along the way.

Stacey Lane has been an active FH Foundation Patient Advocate and we are very proud to announce that she is the newest member on our Board of Directors.
