The Department of Defense plan to implement the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification 2.0 (CMMC) by mid-2025 is presenting some companies with a looming need to complete a daunting certification process.
Business leaders, who have been researching and implementing CMMC for a year or more, say companies should follow an incremental approach to understanding CMMC requirements, tap into multiple sources of expertise on the topic, and carefully assess and contain implementation expenses.
NextGen Leaders Plan for Growth and Impact
The Fort Meade Alliance’s revamped NextGen Leaders Group is off to a strong start in 2025.
Designed for professionals aged 40 and younger from FMA member companies, the group is built around three focus pillars: Networking Opportunities, Professional Development and Giving Back. The group has grown to more than 70 individual members since the fall.
The 10-member planning committee, led by Chair Brittainy White of RealmOne, is planning many opportunities for young professionals to grow professionally and to give back to the Fort Meade region.

Attendees celebrated the Fort Meade community and the holiday season at our annual President’s Reception on December 12th. Hundreds of toys and gift cards were generously donated to the USO’s Project Elf, which provides holiday gifts to military children at Fort Meade.
