Business leaders are using terms like ‘roaring Twenties,’ ‘contracting on steroids’ and ‘full storm’ to describe the current flurry of contracting activity by Fort Meade agencies and commands.

After more than a year of slowed or altered business operations due to the pandemic, federal officials and contractors are working through heightened numbers of RFPs and business opportunities. Government and industry professionals, however, are also navigating an altered business landscape, following an uptick of local mergers and acquisitions mid-pandemic.

Employees at FMA member companies can now take advantage of a myriad of classes and training programs through the FMA Academy — a new initiative with regional educational partners.

The FMA Academy encourages and provides pathways for member companies to invest in training up their workforce though a series of educational discounts and other perks offered exclusively to employees of FMA member companies.

The FMA has partnered with five education institutions: Cybrary, Howard Community College, Towson University Continuing and Professional Studies, UMBC Training Centers and University of Maryland – Global Campus. Through classes and training offered by the FMA Academy partners, FMA member companies can explore different options that will meet individual or group needs, with benefits ranging from discounts (up to 25% off courses) to company-wide assessments and training.
