This summer, the Fort Meade Alliance’s Teacher Externship Program brought 10 educators inside FMA member companies to gain firsthand exposure to Maryland’s defense and technology sectors.
The cohort included six teachers from Anne Arundel County Public Schools and four from Howard County Public School System. Teachers were matched with FMA member companies ADG Creative, AT&T, CACI, IntelliGenesis, Lockheed Martin, MasterPeace Solutions, Peraton, and Praxis Engineering for placements that would deepen their understanding of the career pathways available to students.

Project SCOPE Middle School is underway for the 2025-2026 school year. FMA successfully kicked off this year’s program at Lindale Middle School, reaching nearly 300 7th graders.
Students explored real-world career possibilities, responsible behaviors, and key skills for a successful middle school career. A special thank you to our returning volunteer, Carly Danek of Lockheed Martin, who helped make these sessions impactful.
Project SCOPE’s next stop is Arundel Middle School with several more schools scheduled for October.
