Your Fall DAF and QCD Updates & Reminders

We encourage our donors to give in tax-smart ways such as through Donor Advised Funds (DAFs) and Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from an IRA. Here are some tips to keep in mind as year-end approaches. Always check with your financial advisor for personalized guidance.

  1. You may benefit from accelerating your giving before tax changes go into effect in 2026.
  2. If you don’t have a DAF, consider setting one up. You can fund it now and recommend gifts for years to come.
  3. If you are making gifts from a DAF or IRA this fall, consider contacting your advisor now to avoid the year-end rush.
  4. Appreciated assets such as stocks are still a powerful way to give.

CSA’s Tax ID is 94-1422465 and our address is 204 Stierlin Rd, Mountain View, CA 94043.

For stock gifts, the account is Morgan Stanley for the benefit of CSA, #112-119947 DTC Clearing 0015.

CSA Collaborates with Change the Story

Last summer, CSA staff Adriana Romero and Sarah Townsend-Handley collaborated with the Changemaker Initiative’s Change the Story Program to create a three-part project.

We kicked things off in June with a Cafecito: a cozy, intimate gathering where community members shared their concerns and needs in light of recent immigration policy changes. Thanks to our partnership with the Day Worker Center, we welcomed their clients and ours into this important conversation.

In July, we turned those insights into action by hosting a Resource Fair “De Aquí y de Allá” tailored to the community’s needs. With the help of Siren, we offered a Know Your Rights training, as well as community organizations tabling and sharing resources, then followed by delicious food from Simply Sabor and live music by IndiviDúo.

Lastly in August, we wrapped up the initiative with a powerful Family Preparedness Plan workshop, also in collaboration with Siren, helping families feel more secure and informed in the event of a family member’s arrest.

What we’ve learned this summer is simple but profound: our community is craving safe, welcoming spaces, where families can come together to learn, grow, and support one another. We look forward to continuing this work and are grateful to the Changemaker Initiative for this amazing opportunity!

CSA Gears Up for Holiday Sharing Program

The holiday season is just around the corner. That means that CSA is already gearing up for our annual Holiday Sharing Program on December 18th, during which we distribute gift cards to our most vulnerable community members. Clients have told us over the years that what they need most is financial resources, and this distribution is an important part of furthering economic empowerment. Clients are always delighted to receive gift cards so they can purchase what their families most need to have a joyful holiday season.

If you would like to contribute, we are seeking $25 Walmart gift cards to make the holidays a little brighter for our neighbors in need. Donate online or drop off gift cards at our office during business hours: 204 Stierlin Rd, Mountain View. Thank you for your support!
