Continuum Movement Fall Newsletter
Dear friends,

Hope this fall newsletter finds you relaxing before our year starts to wind to a close. I have some good news to share with you.

First, Liz Koch has written a very interesting book that she asked me to read and review.  As some of you may know, Liz taught with Emilie Conrad several times. There is a deep connection between the two of them and with Continuum as a whole.  For more information and my review please read below. Hint - I recommend ;-)

There is to be a Conscious Dance Conference offered virtually that I will be participating in. You can register free with the link below. My talk/class will be November 2 at 10 AM Eastern time.  Hope you will join in.  I would love to have friends like you there as I share my love for Continuum Movement.

I have an ongoing virtual class going for advanced students of Continuum called Deepening. I feel such gratitude for this group—Our experience of Continuum keeps growing as our shared deep caring about each other unfolds. There is a prerequisite of taking one of Continuum Movement introductory virtual classes to join.
There will be a new introductory virtual class offered after the first of the year called Continuum Movement’s Core Elements.  More to come.

Last but not least the Continuum Movement teachers are doing so many wonderful classes around the world. Please go to the teachers’ link and find out what is happening.

Remember to keep relaxing and enjoying every breath.

With waves of love,

Stalking Wild Psoas
Donnalea's Review:
Liz Koch is known throughout the world on her writings and workshops on the Psoas muscle. Her latest book  Stalking the Wild Psoas explores and takes us farther in understanding our bodies.  She brings in her wealth of knowledge that she has developed by teaching with and studying with somatic greats like Emilie Conrad Da’oud. I recommend this book for all who wish to develop more understanding and connection with their bodies.
Named after the exploratory workshop of the same name,  Stalking Wild Psoas  contains nine short essays to inspire somatic therapists, bodyworkers, yoga, and movement teachers to conceive of body not as an object to be fixed, but as a self-organizing, self-healing, and bio-intelligent system.Shifting the paradigm,  Stalking Wild Psoas  urges the reader to begin changing the language of body to actively explore the psoas as a vital messenger of integrity and creative expression. Weaving new findings in biology, living systems thinking, somatic movement, and storytelling, Liz Koch emboldens us to recognize the limitations of the predominant mechanical thinking about body and to actively explore psoas as a vital core messenger.

Liz Koch, author of Core Awareness and The Psoas Book seeks to dissolve the objectification of “body” in order to reconceptualize humans beings as biologically intelligent, self-organizing, and self-healing. Specifically addressing educators and therapists she delves into the conceptual framework of core by decolonizing the popular mechanistic thinking of psoas as muscle, inviting the reader on a journey toward re-engaging with life’s creative processes. The book illuminates the limitations of the predominant paradigm of body and actively explores psoas as a vital intelligent messenger that links us to an expansive network of profound possibilities. Employing biomorphic and embryonic paradigms, Koch redefines psoas as smart, expressive tissue that is both elemental and universal. Named after her popular exploratory workshops of the same name, Stalking Wild Psoas encourages all readers to nourish integrity and claim self-efficacy as creative and expressive individuals.
