Dear Friends of Family Promise of Essex County,

As we welcome summer to Essex County, I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the community for your continued support as we work to expand FPE programs and serve more families facing the crisis of homelessness.

Like many of you, COVID-19 has forced FPE to adapt and change the way we do business, including the way we provide emergency shelter and meals for families.  To evaluate and develop comprehensive solutions to the difficulties that COVID-19 has created, we have formed a task force, made up of diverse voices from our board, staff and volunteer network, to find solutions and evolve our programs. I look forward to keeping you up-to-date on all the new and exciting changes and expansions coming to FPE.

With gratitude,

Tia Aery
Executive Director
Housing Update
Thanks to support from our donors, volunteers and concerned community members, we are happy to announce that Suriha and her daughter have moved into their new home.

When Suriha, who is a single mother, came to Family Promise of Essex County seeking shelter, our case manager quickly placed her and her daughter in a motel room. FPE continued to provide social services to get Suriha back on her feet.

By providing a hand up, we are happy to announce that Suriha and her daughter just moved into their new home! Suriha said,"Family Promise of Essex County has been like a second family to us. My case manager is a great help, a beautiful soul, and also a listening ear. I cannot thank FPE enough. Programs like this one are greatly needed and highly appreciated.” Suriha has supporting words to other families experiencing homelessness, “Good luck and keep your head up to the families out there that are in need.”

Help a Child Access Learning Opportunities
With so many children going back to in-person learning after a year of virtual learning, the challenges for low-income families to provide necessities to succeed are difficult.

To be successful in learning, children need computers, internet, desks, access to tutors and school supplies at home.

Your donation can help provide a child with essential learning supplies and educational opportunities in the FPE Youth and Family Program.
Please consider a donation to Family Promise of Essex County.
