Seasonal Updates
A Message from the Department of Public Service
Yard waste collection has ended. If you still have yard waste, please store it until spring or drive it down the DPS yard located at 500 Southfield Road.
Winter Weather Updates
The City of Lincoln Park wants to remind residents about the following snow items:

  • Lincoln Park municipal code requires the responsible party of each property to remove snow within their sidewalk within 24 hours and within 12 hours for ice accumulation.
  • Fort St, Dix Hwy, Southfield Rd, and Outer Dr are under the jurisdiction of Wayne County or MDOT. We are not responsible for salting or removal of snow on those roads.
  • The Department of Public Service is responsible for plowing 230 lane miles of road during snow events. DPS prioritizes main routes so emergency vehicles can get to schools, hospitals, and homes quickly.
  • During a significant snow event, the City of Lincoln Park may declare a snow emergency to ensure DPS can successfully plow the roads.
  • Please remember to move your vehicle from the street during a snow emergency as to not receive a parking infraction.
  • Be sure to keep fire hydrants clear of snow so they are accessible for the Fire Department
  • Please remove snow and other debris away from any fire hydrant in a 3 foot perimeter.

Curbside Etiquette
Why Was My Rubbish Collection Not Picked Up?
One of the most common reasons why our rubbish collection contractor misses pickups is because they simply did not see it!

It is important to place your cart so that the opening faces the street with the lid completely closed to avoid rubbish from falling in to the street. Be mindful to make sure the cart is not blocked by a vehicle or other curbside items.

Yard waste must be placed in designated paper yard waste bags or properly marked containers. Yard waste stickers are available at City Hall.

The yard waste truck will not stop to look in unmarked containers. All branches and twigs need to be cut in 3 foot lengths and bundled with twine. Filled bags must be less than 50 lbs. Please remember, dirt is not considered yard waste and will not be accepted.
Reporting Issues Within The City
Before reporting a pothole, please ensure it's on one of our local City maintained roads.

Wayne County maintains the following roads: Fort Street, Outer Drive, Dix, and Southfield
DTE makes reporting nonfunctional street lights and downed power lines easy with their report tool.
