What Gives!
Greetings!
As the winter weather continues, we hope this edition of "What Gives" adds a little warmth to your week. In this issue we packed some exciting announcements, including a few enhancements to our online system.

New Online Donation Platform and Fund Portal Announced
We are thrilled to announce two new additions to our online system. Both additions enhance the ov erall d onor experience and better connect people who care with causes they care about in the community. 

  • NEW Online Donation Platform - Makes the online donation experience informative and very easy to use. 

  • NEW Online Fund Portal - Allows fundholders the ability to interact with their account(s) via a secure, password protected website. 

Introducing the Karen & Joseph Grush Charitable Fund
We are pleased to announce the addition of the Karen & Joseph Grush Charitable Fund.  This new  donor advised fund   will provide support to DeKalb County organizations that promote services for families and children.

Karen and Joe Grush know the benefit of supportive families. As first-generation college students, they greatly benefited from the support of parents who believed that education and public service can open doors to better and fuller lives.

Scholarship Opportunities Available
We are currently accepting scholarship applications for the Palmer Family Music Education, Harold P. Wells, and the CHS Elburn scholarships, all administered through the Community Foundation.


To date, there are over 70 scholarship funds at the Community Foundation. The majority of these scholarships are administered through local high schools. Please contact the school counselor at your local high school for application information.  
Thank You Frank Roberts!
Please join us as we say THANK YOU to Frank Roberts for his time and service on the Community Foundation Board of Directors.

Frank served on the  Community Foundation Board  from 2010-2018. Beginning in 2017, Frank took on the role of Board President for his final two years. He served as a representative for DeKalb, a community that he loves for its people and their engagement with Northern Illinois University.

YEP Alumni Update With Blair Wright
Meet Blair Wright, former Youth Engaged in Philanthropy (YEP) Grants Chair and a 2011 graduate of Sandwich High School. So where is Blair now and did the YEP program have an impact on her life after high school?

Give DeKalb County - Nonprofit Registration
Nonprofit registration is open for Give DeKalb County 2019.  This 24-hour fundraising event will be held on May 2, 2019. During this giving day, donors can support nonprofit organizations by making donations online or in-person at the DeKalb County Community Foundation.
