Submit an Article to Microscopy Today

The Editors of Microscopy Today (MTO) encourage and greatly appreciate the submission of articles from microscope users, manufacturers, and suppliers. Of particular interest are summaries of in-depth articles published in peer-reviewed journals and articles that describe new equipment and applications. Microscopy Today is open access and there are no charges for publishing in MTO. All articles are available free to our subscription list of over 18,000 microscopists and through our collaboration with Oxford University Press over 8,000 libraries worldwide. For further information email the Editor-in-Chief at [email protected] or visit https://academic.oup.com/mt.

2023 Micrograph Competition

The deadline to submit for the 2023 Micrograph Competition is coming up on March 15, 2023. You may submit any micrograph to the open category; however, your chances are greater for published micrographs and video micrographs since these categories have smaller numbers of entries. After scientific relevance is established, our judges will be seeking striking images that stand on their own without knowledge of the subject or the type of microscopy.

There are 3 Micrograph categories:

  1. Published in previous year
  2. Open for any micrograph
  3. Video clips including animations of 3D reconstructions.

Entry is free of charge.

Microscopy Today | Innovation Awards

Each year Microscopy Today presents ten awards to organizations or individuals who have launched or published innovations in microscopy or microanalysis. Winning products and methods are selected based on their usefulness to the microscopy community. The entries most likely to win are those that provide better, faster, easier, or entirely new methods of analysis using a microscope or microanalytical instrument.

Download an entry form here or contact Charles Lyman at [email protected]. The deadline to submit is Tuesday, March 21st.

What skills do you need for career development/advancement?

The Microscopy Society of America (MSA) has established an E-learning Task Force to identify how MSA can develop their online learning space to better serve our members and carry out the organization’s mission. As such, we are collecting information from trainees on what technical skills they may need to develop or advance their career beyond graduate school.
