Manufacturing is one industry that economic leaders are working strategically to expand in our region.

Update from the President & CEO:

Friends of the Gateway Region,

It’s no secret that the key to successful economic development is developing strategic partnerships and relationships. Fortunately, that’s an area where VGR has demonstrated great progress. We talk about our great regional assets such as our available land, transportation infrastructure and expanding availability of water and power, but our most valuable assets are the people who are committed to boosting the economic vitality of each community within our region.

In 2025, we are continuing the great momentum that we’ve been building while raising more awareness for economic development opportunities here. We are engaged with many stakeholders, and we’ve already pursued several new opportunities to grow these relationships. On top of that, the busy season of economic development and trade shows is kicking off, so we’ll be on the road having discussions with prospects and marketing the many attributes of the region.

We also are deeply thankful to our new board officers who were elected at our February meeting:

·      Rex Davis, Chair

·      Christine Chandler, Vice Chair

·      Nick Walker, Treasurer

·      James Beazley, Secretary

While our entire board of directors help to guide our strategies and contribute to our success in the year ahead, these individuals make up our executive committee and are more connected to our day-to-day work. Congratulations are in order to Rex, Chris, Nick and James.
