Make new friends

When I was a Brownie (the precursor to Girl Scouts) we sang a song that has kept in my mind through the (many) years since: Make new friends, but keep the old... one is silver and the other gold. I keep getting this song stuck in my head when I think about the senior college network.

Taking part in a Maine senior college is all about making new friends. Plus, as a network each college shares and collaborates with members of other colleges. So we end up being exactly what the song says: a group of friends that can reach out and make new friends.

If you're a member of a senior college, you already know you can make amazing friends by joining in the classes and activities. An added benefit: you can take classes at any of the other senior colleges in Maine so you can meet friendly people across the state! Don't miss out on this great benefit – check out the MSCN website to find links to all of our colleges and discover what's out there for you.

Let's be friends!

Best wishes,

Joyce

How the senior colleges work

Become a member of your local college so you can join in classes for a small fee. Most memberships cost between $25-$40.

Your membership is good across the network!

What do you know? Share it!

Do you have a passion? Our senior colleges use volunteer instructors to teach classes and workshops. You don't need to be an absolute expert, but you do need to desire having a good time with a group of people interested in learning and sharing together.

Instructors can be in person or online at most colleges. Our colleges are organized and taught by volunteers. Can there be a better way to spend a few hours every week?

If you're interested in becoming a senior college instructor, contact your local college.
