This February, the San Leandro Chamber of Commerce proudly honors Black History Month — a time to recognize the achievements, resilience, and contributions of Black leaders, innovators, and community builders who enrich our region’s culture, economy, and spirit. We are especially proud to have a diverse Board of Directors and membership whose leadership and perspectives make our Chamber stronger, more inclusive, and better equipped to support all local businesses.
We hope many of our members were able to attend recent events, including “Together We Rise: Strength in Diversity, Success in Unity”, a community dialogue and networking event hosted by the San Leandro Black Chamber of Commerce and Public Library on February 12.
Across the Bay Area, there are still meaningful ways to engage this month — from programs like “The Sound of Heritage: African Drumming” to the Black History Month film screening of Stormy Weather at the San Leandro Public Library on February 26, as well as other regional celebrations that honor culture, history, and resilience. These gatherings celebrate heritage, support Black‑owned businesses, and foster meaningful community connections.
Black History Month is a time to reflect on the past, celebrate present contributions, and continue uplifting Black leaders who enrich our region every day. Together, let’s keep building a community where all voices are heard, valued, and celebrated.
