About Us

Hello Samantha,,

How does the chorus of that song go? You know the one… “Friends, how many of us have them? Friends, ones we can depend on?Yes, I’m referring to the iconic song Friendssung by an American hip hop group called Whodini back in 1984. The opening lines of the song have often halted me into deep contemplation about my friendships and in recent years, I’ve evaluated the true meaning of sisterhood and the role it has played in my life.

The month of February most notably signifies Black History Month, a time of the year dedicated to centering the rich history of the African diaspora and the celebration of black excellence and resilience. The month is also known for Valentine’s Day, or Saint Valentine’s Day. Read More.

The Birth of An Artist Youth Series

 in collaboration with Artoonist

A Queen's Narrative, in collaboration with Artoonist Kahli Hernandez, presents "The Birth of an Artist," a 12-week youth series for girls aged 12 to 18, running from April 11 to June 27 at the Dunbar Community Center.

This series aims to merge the art of public speaking and creative arts expression through painting among our young queens. Alongside painting skills, the program will incorporate elements of public speaking, leadership development, and entrepreneurship.

Young Queens in this program will have the opportunity to showcase their artwork at local craft fairs and festivals in the community. Our objective is to assist them in unlocking their creative potential and provide a platform to express themselves and their artwork. Register your young queen today!

QUEENS AROUND TOWN

MACnite Events

Take a look at our Queens, Taneisha & Samantha, who are making waves at the MACnite event in January. A heartfelt acknowledgment to Mychal "Myke" Connolly, owner of Stand Out Trucks, for spearheading a powerful session on strategies to drive business growth. The audience engaged in enriching discussions and absorbed valuable insights throughout the event. The venue buzzed with familiar faces, including our dear friend Aaron St. Louis, also known as AjoeSaint, a prominent local writer, designer, poet, and artist in the community.
