HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

2022 – A Year With Many Employee Milestones

As we mentioned in last month’s newsletter, 2022 begins Hydra-Tech’s 45th year in business. That in and of itself is impressive, but it only the begins the list of landmarks.

  • Hydra-Tech Pumps has been operating in Nesquehoning, PA (since moving from Mt. Holly, NJ) for 15 years.

  • As this is Hydra-Tech Pumps’ 45th year in business, it is also the company founder Ken Reim’s 45th year with the company. Without Ken’s vision and drive none of us would be here to celebrate these milestones.

  • We have 5 people celebrating 15 years with the company – all hired before or during the move in 2007.

  • Our two machinists who have an eye on the detail, Tim and Galen.
  • Our shop supervisor who can do it all, Jesse.
  • The original inside salesperson and voice of Hydra-Tech Pumps, Michelle.
  •  Our technical and product development expert, Darryl.

  •  We have two people celebrating 10 years with the company.

  • Our marketing captain Tiffany, who produces these newsletters and does so much more.
  • Our professional painter Tony, who is the reason why your units look so good.

  • We have two people celebrating 5 years with the company.

  • Welder / Fabricator 1 – Steve making sure those frames are solid and square.
  • Welder / Fabricator 2 – Charlie laying down a straight and artful weld every time.

We look forward to a successful and fun 2022. 10 of our 21 employees are celebrating a milestone of significance this year. We have orders on hand and are working hard for you, our customers. It’s going to be a great year.

We Build Them To Last

The following are statements that we know to be true.

  • We build quality hydraulically driven submersible pumps with discharge sizes from 1.25” to 30”.

  • We build quality electric, gas, diesel, propane / LNG fueled hydraulic power units from 3 to 600 horsepower.

  • WE BUILD THEM TO LAST.

We have to build them to last – our customers expect it. Hydra-Tech’s equipment is used in some pretty demanding environments. Our pumps regularly see sludge, dirt, sand, trash, waste and other debris as they sit at the bottom of a hole and work. Our hydraulic power unit usually isn’t far away.

We recently had an old friend back for a visit – an HT60DCV that was built in the original facility in Mt. Holly, New Jersey in January of 1991. This unit delivers approximately 28 GPM at 2800 PSI with a Deutz air cooled engine. It was purchased by a distributor who resold it to a nuclear power plant now owned by Exelon. They wanted Hydra Tech to repair a known issue with an engine starter solenoid, do some regular preventative maintenance work (change all of the filters and oil and replace any components showing wear or of concern) and generally give it a once over. This nuclear power plant is in Pennsylvania only about 2.5 hours away from our facility so one of their guys brought it to us.

We were able to start and run the unit as it was delivered (jumping out the bad starter solenoid) and the unit ran fine. Below are before and after pictures – unit looks pretty good for having just celebrated its 31st birthday.

We are proud of the equipment we build and love seeing a unit from the early nineties come through the shop to get the TLC it needs to be a reliable unit for our customer for many more years to come.

Pump of the Month - S6300

Hydra-Tech’s S6300, 12” hydraulic submersible solids handling pump features a high-performance closed vane channel impeller which offers superior efficiency resulting in both high volume and high head capabilities. This 12” pump is great for use on jobs where higher heads or long discharge runs are encountered such as sewer-by-pass, barge transfer, municipal waste lagoon and tank pumping.  Depending on the application, this pump can be bolted directly into a pipeline, used as a booster pump or as a dewatering pump. Combined with our HT100 to HT200 power units, the S6300 is capable of flows up to 8500 GPM and heads to 110 feet. The safe and variable speed hydraulic drive can be used where electric power is hazardous or impractical.
