Captain's Corner
Written by Captain Kevin Deerman
A large number of boats were able to take advantage of the much anticipated weather window this week to jump on the Wahoo bite. The early guys that endured rough conditions had big numbers with a couple reports of 20 plus fish. The guys that got out on Tuesday had better weather but met up with 13 plus boats and a much slower bite averaging 4-6 fish per boat. The captains that I spoke with all agreed that they were marking fish but with the pressure of so many boats it was tougher to get the bites. So now we know the Wahoo are there, it's just a matter of getting another break in the weather and beating the crowd!
