FIRST THROUGH THIRD FRIENDS GATHERING

Save the NEW date of April 26 for the next First through Third Friends gathering. We had a great time with all things popcorn in January. What might we do next? Find out on April 26 from 12:15-1:45 PM! If it's going to be dry and 60 degrees or warmer, we'll head outside so dress appropriately! Register here!

FOURTH AND FIFTH FELLOWSHIP GATHERING

Save the date of April 19 for the next Fourth and Fifth Fellowship gathering in the Youth Lounge. Can we have as much silliness as we did with bubble wrap in January? Come find out on April 19 from 12:15-1:45 PM! If it's going to be dry and 60 degrees or warmer, we'll head outside so dress appropriately! Register here!

ANYWHERE ANYTIME BIBLE PODCAST

Have you heard? 🎧

Your pastors have launched a podcast just for kids and their families - short (5–10 minutes), cozy, and full of Bible stories they love. New episodes drop every other Monday, making it easy to listen together on the way to school, at bedtime, or whenever it fits your rhythm.

The newest episode tells about sisters Mary and Martha and the one releasing on Monday, March 30 is all about the empty tomb. Give it a listen and see what it’s all about!

High school graduates will be recognized during worship, and all graduates will be included in the May 31 bulletin. Join us afterward for a cake reception to celebrate together!

SAVIDIS FINE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

The family of Janice and Chuck Savidis, longtime members of this church, dedicated participants in the Chancel Choir, and enthusiastic supporters of the arts, established this Fine Arts Scholarship to provide financial support for students in our congregation pursuing an education in the fine arts.

Applicants must have been active members of the First Presbyterian Church of Libertyville for at least three years to be eligible.

Each year, a total of $1,000 is awarded at the discretion of the Music Subcommittee of the Worship Committee. If multiple recipients are selected, the award will be divided equally among them.

Applications due by May 4. Find the application here.

FOR THE GENERAL GOOD

CONGREGATIONAL GATHERING #2

The first congregational gathering was so, so helpful in beginning to shape future plans for First Pres and we hope you are planning to attend the second (April 12) and third (May 17) gatherings.

Think of this time as a “let’s figure this out together” moment for the church.

RSVP here if we should expect to see your kids at the childcare/activities offered during the gatherings.

KIDS (AND YOUTH)

MAKE GREAT LITURGISTS!

If your kiddo (or you) would like to help lead worship as a liturgist this summer (and even into the school year), we would love to add them to the rotation of liturgists. Fill out this short form so we know how best to reach you and which kids (or parents) would like to join us.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION MISSION STATEMENT

adopted 9/2024; edited 5/2025

The Christian Education Committee cultivates flourishing disciples at First Pres by enhancing biblical literacy and faithful understanding, empowering spiritual growth, and enriching relationships with God and neighbors.

The Christian Education Committee adopted a mission statement in September which we had crafted over months with the intent that it would help guide and shape our programming. What we state is what we strive to achieve consistently. If you have suggestions or observations that can help us live more fully into our mission statement, please contact Nicole or speak to committee chair, Debra Alexander.

As always, should you have any questions, feel free to email Nicole or call her.
