Check Out Who's on the Ballot 

You may recognize some names on the ballet this November 5th if you are voting in Lawrence Township. Recently LTSF reached out to the mayoral candidates to see if Lawrence Township Alumni are seeking office this November. Here is what we learned.

Steve CollierLawrence Central Class of 1973, is running for his second term as Mayor of Lawrence. After retiring from his career as an educator, dean, athletic director, and coach in Lawrence Township, Steve began to serve the community as a member of the Lawrence Common Council in 2012. In 2015 he was elected the 7th Mayor for the City of Lawrence. During his time as Mayor, the city has seen much progress. Click here to learn more. As a lifelong resident of Lawrence, Mayor Collier is committed to serving the community where he lives. 

Kathy Walton Lawrence Central Class of 1973 , serves as the Clerk for the City of Lawrence. She was the first person to hold the position after Lawrence became a second-class city under Indiana law in 2003. Kathy attended Harrison Hill, Belzer, and Lawrence Central. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Business from Indiana University. After working at various businesses, Kathy began working with the City of Lawrence in 1996 to manage payroll and later served as Deputy Clerk Treasurer. She was elected to her present position in 2003, 2007, 2011, and 2015. Kathy has spent decades in the community volunteering with numerous organizations. 
Mark Clark , Lawrence North Class of 1983 ,  is originally from Shaker Heights, Ohio. After graduating from LN, Mark attended Purdue University, majoring in Restaurant, Hotel and Institutional Management and eventually found his way to being a small business owner of a restaurant. After closing the business, Mark settled into banking and currently works as a commercial banker at Citizens State Bank. Lawrence is Mark's home, residing in the Fort Harrison area for the past 5 years. Active in the community in various volunteer positions, Mark looks forward to impacting the City of Lawrence as a member of the Common Council. 

David Blount, Lawrence Central Class of 2003, is a candidate for Lawrence At Large City Council. Upon graduation from high school, David attended Hanover College and today works as an account manager at Officeworks. David is passionate about the community in which his family resides and volunteers with organizations in the community including the Lawrence Township School Foundation. He is excited to support and work for further positive change in the City of Lawrence. 

Lauren Russel, Lawrence North Class of 2003, is a candidate for Lawrence City Council, District 6. After graduating from LN, Lauren attended Millikin University where she received her BA in Theater with a Minor in Communications. It was while working at Harrison College's Student Affairs office that Lauren gained experience in networking with community organizations and helping students navigate college. Currently Lauren is working her most difficult endeavor, staying home and raising her children. Lauren is looking forward to giving back to her community though public service.

Each time you shop at Kroger, swipe your Kroger Plus card or enter the phone number associated with your card and a percentage of your purchases will be donated to the Foundation. It's that easy!

Alumni & Community SAY YES to Helping Kids

The  Lawrence Township School Foundation works to connect community and classrooms to provide the resources needed for all children to excel. Thanks to all who participated in recent events. 

"The BoB" Golf Outing   
Thanks to the alumni and friends who came out for a day of golf and fun to support the kids. This outing benefits the Bridge Fund, a discretionary fund at LTSF that bridges the gap for students so they can succeed.  $21,500 was raised to help one kid at a time be successful!

Indy DO Day
1 day, 9 schools, 254 volunteers, 762 hours. Thank you to everyone who gave of their time to make our schools look amazing. A gaga pit was built, benches and planter boxes were added, and outdoor labs look amazing. This is just a sampling of what was accomplished. We are so fortunate to belong to such a supportive community.

Emanuel Duncan Alumni Basketball Game
Saturday, January 4, 2020 @ 4pm
To honor the memory of LC super fan Emanuel Duncan, we will hold our first ever alumni basketball game on January 4th at 4pm in the Main Gym. All proceeds raised will go to the Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation.  
This game is open to anyone who earned at least one varsity letter in either boys or girls basketball at LC. All eligible players must have received their diploma from LC. Email Ryan Banas if interested in participating.
