As 2023 draws to a close, we find ourselves reflecting on the impact your generosity has had on our mission to relieve hunger and provide support to create a stronger, more connected community. We wanted to take a moment to express our gratitude.
Your contributions, whether financial donations, time volunteered, or food provided, have been the cornerstone of the work we do. Thanks to the kindness of our community, we were able to provide over one million pounds of food to individuals and families throughout the year.
Food has a unique way of bringing people together. Meals are not just sustenance for our bodies; they’re shared moments, laughter, and the foundation for creating lasting memories. Your support has nourished the spirits of thousands of our neighbors in need.
This last year was a remarkable year at CAER:
In December alone, 592 households visited the food shelf, which is a 31% increase from 2022.
Throughout this Holiday Season (November and December), 881 unique households were provided with food.
In 2023, there were 9070 visits to the food shelf, and a total of 1,064,882 pounds of food distributed. This is a record amount of food distributed since CAER opened in 1979.
All of this wouldn’t have been possible without the support of amazing volunteers. In this calendar year, 210 people donated a combined 12,218 hours of their time.
In the coming year, we look forward to furthering our mission with the continued support of our donors and volunteers. Together, we can make an even greater difference in the lives of our neighbors experiencing hunger and food insecurity.
May the new year bring you joy, prosperity, and the satisfaction of knowing that you have made a meaningful impact on the lives of others. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for being an essential part of the CAER family.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Heather Kliewer
