Shalom JFO,

I hope this Gift in Action message finds you well. This initiative is part of an ongoing effort to share the impact of your gift to the Jewish Federation of Ottawa's Annual Campaign.

As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude for your unwavering support. It is because of your generosity that we have been able to fund and sustain the Jewish Experience Microgrant program, one of Federation's funding streams, which has become a cornerstone of our community's vibrancy and vitality.

At the heart of the Microgrant program is a deep commitment to nurturing Jewish life in our city. Through this initiative, Federation extends vital support to organizations and individuals, empowering them to realize creative initiatives that strengthen Jewish identity, inspire engagement, and broaden the reach of our community across the National Capital Region.

Since July 2023, thanks to your continued generosity, Federation proudly backed 61 microgrant events, allocating more than $110K.

From cultural celebrations to educational workshops, each of these events has contributed to the tapestry of Jewish life in Ottawa, fostering connections, building community, and leaving a lasting impact on all who participate.

Some of the events include:

• Temple Israel Shabbat Dinner for Young Adults

• Michael Kent Poutine & Punch: Young Professionals Havdalah

• CBB Skating for Camp Alumni

• Tamir Super Bowl Party with Machzikei Hadas

• Chabad Student Network Mega Challah Bake

• OMJS Environmental Tu B'Shvat

PARTICIPANT VOICES

“It's been an amazing experience! We are relatively new to Ottawa and this type of event allowed us to meet more people and make more friends! Thank you so much to everyone who is involved!”

“Being together with family and seeing friends was fabulous. Thank you for what you do to help the community come together and enjoy an evening at a time when we are worried about the war in Israel and the future of our homeland family and friends living there.”

“I reconnected with a friend who had recently moved back to Ottawa; connected with other Jewish families in my neighbourhood whom I might not otherwise see; went to my first tashlich and demonstrated to my children that they are part of a vibrant Jewish community — all valuable experiences fostered by the grant. Thank you for funding this event!”

Your ongoing support is a testament to the strength and solidarity of our community. Together, we are shaping a future where Jewish life thrives, where traditions are celebrated, and where every individual feels a sense of belonging and connection.

On behalf of the entire Jewish Federation of Ottawa, I extend our heartfelt thanks for your partnership and generosity. Your contributions make a difference, not only today but for generations to come.

Warm regards,
