Greetings!

The holiday season invites us to pause and reflect on what truly matters. It is a time of light, generosity, and choosing how we show up for one another.

At Kids Kicking Cancer | Heroes Circle Canada, we meet families at moments they never expected to face. Moments filled with uncertainty and fear. Often, what they are searching for first is not an answer, but calm. A steady breath. A sense of inner strength. A light to guide them forward.

That is where our work begins.

Through our evidence-based martial arts therapy program, children learn practical tools to regulate their breathing, manage pain and anxiety, and rebuild confidence. Often this happens in environments where very little feels within their control. Over time, something powerful takes place. Fear softens. Calm grows. Children begin to recognize their own strength.

One of those children is Markus.

When Markus joined the Heroes Circle, his confidence had been worn down by constant misunderstanding. He struggled to feel like he belonged. Through breathing, movement, and encouragement, Markus began to stand taller, both physically and emotionally. He stopped asking what was wrong with him and started discovering what was right.

Today, Markus walks into rooms with greater confidence, calm, and belief in himself because he learned that his strength was already within him.

Stories like Markus’s are made possible by people like you.

As the new Executive Director of Kids Kicking Cancer | Heroes Circle Canada, I carry a deep responsibility to the families we serve and to the donors and partners who make this work possible. My commitment is clear purpose, thoughtful stewardship, and transparent relationships grounded in trust.

Your support creates real and lasting outcomes for children across Canada.

Confidence where fear once lived.

Calm where anxiety once dominated.

Joy, connection, and possibility where uncertainty once prevailed.

This impact is visible in the quiet moments that matter most. A child steadying their breath before a medical procedure. A child walking into a room with courage. A child discovering calm and strength when they need it most.

As we look ahead, our focus is on strengthening our foundation so we can serve more children, more consistently, and with the highest standards of care. This means investing in our instructors, deepening partnerships, and ensuring long-term sustainability.

This season, the most meaningful gift is not something you can wrap, but something that changes a child’s life. It is the gift of health, hope, and light, offering children Power, Peace, and Purpose when they need it most.

A gift to our Annual Fund ensures that children like Markus, and many others facing illness, disability, or life challenges, can continue to access the Heroes Circle at no cost to their families. These inclusive programs help children regulate their breathing, work through pain, fear, and anger, and discover their own strength.

Please give generously as you are able this holiday season. Your gift helps a child find calm, build confidence, and experience light in moments that matter most.

Thank you for being the difference in the lives of our children. I wish you a holiday season filled with Power, Peace, and Purpose.

With deep gratitude,

A Special Note…

In our next email, we’ll share another incredible story — Ashmita’s journey, a young, Powerful Martial Artist who refuses to let her physical limitations define her. Stay tuned for her inspiring letter.
