Dear Friends,

The holiday season is in full swing, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to serve the community I’ve known and loved since birth. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Michelle and I certainly appreciated the chance to slow down and spend time with family and friends. As we look ahead to the rest of the season, there are plenty of ways to get involved and embrace the festive spirit.

Harford County is once again coming together for the Sheriff’s Office 38th Annual Christmas Drive for the families of Harford County held in partnership with Jones Toyota. Donations can be dropped off at Jones Toyota or the Harford County Sheriff's Office.

As colder weather approaches, please remember to take care of your health. Many cardiac events happen during strenuous winter activities like snow shoveling, so pace yourself, take breaks, and follow your doctor’s guidance, your loved ones need you well.

While many local events highlight Christmas and winter traditions, there are also celebrations for Chanukah on December 14 and 20. Whether you observe Christmas, Chanukah, or simply enjoy the season, I wish you a joyful and healthy winter.

Ongoing Events:

Toys for Tots:

Harford County Modular Railroad is holding its 2nd Annual Train Garden at Fallston Fire and Ambulance Company, Crossroads Station at 3108 Fallston Road in Fallston. This train garden is presented by graduates of the Harford Community College model train classes.

The Humane Society of Harford County is working to “Empty the Shelters” by reducing adoption fees. If you’re an animal lover and able to provide a loving long-term home, consider welcoming a new furry companion.

The Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum Train Garden:

Glenn L. Martin Maryland Aviation Museum is hosting its 12th annual “Planes and Trains” Garden, created in partnership with volunteers from the Museum and the Jacksonville Senior Center.

This year’s exhibit features new additions, including iconic buildings from Disney World, favorite local landmarks, and a few surprises for returning visitors. This display is located at 2323 Eastern Boulevard in Middle River and open now through January 4 on Wednesdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum will be closed Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.
